My wife and I have recently sold our home in US. We are both going back to school online with American universities for graduate degrees and thought it would be an exciting adventure to do this while living abroad. We are fortunate to have access to a family home in Ireland. We are also interested in potentially buying a small place in Italy in the future and would rent for longer stays in the near term. Our thought was to stay 90 days in Ireland and then 90 in Italy on a rotating basis until our Master’s are complete, approximately 2 years. It seems as though this is feasible given that Ireland while an EU member is not Schengen. Any advice or counsel on this would be appreciated.
